Caps Start Playoffs as Stanley Cup Chalk

The battle for the Stanley Cup begins this week when the NHL playoffs get underway. At online sportsbook Bodog the Stanley Cup favorite are the Washington Capitals at +400, and they match up with the Philadelphia Flyers in the opening round.

The Capitals and Flyers split the season series 2-2, but in the last 10 meetings the Flyers have had the advantage at 7-3. These two haven’t met in the postseason since 2008 when Philadelphia won the series in seven games.

Sticking with the Eastern Conference, also on the playoff schedule is the Florida Panthers versus the New York Islanders, the Tampa Bay Lightning versus the Detroit Red Wings, and the Pittsburgh Penguins versus the New York Rangers.

The Panthers were 2-1 against the Islanders this season and they boast a 4-1 mark in their last five. They have never met up in the postseason prior to this.

The Lightning were 2-2 against the Red Wings this season with the home team winning every game. They clashed in the postseason last year with Tampa Bay escaping with a 4-3 series win.

The Penguins have won their last three games against the Rangers. However, the last two years New York has had their number in the playoffs. Antabuse reviews New York defeated Pittsburgh in five games last year and in seven games the year before.

The Western Conference favorite to claim the Cup are the Los Angeles Kings at +700 at Bodog. Their opening-round opponents are their California rivals, the San Jose Sharks. The Sharks were 3-2 against the Kings this season. Two years ago the Sharks had a 3-0 series lead on Los Angeles only to watch the Kings win four straight to take the set.

The rest of the West matchups are the Dallas Stars versus the Minnesota Wild, the St. Has no effect motilium reviews on gastric secretion. Louis Blues versus the Chicago Blackhawks, and the Anaheim Ducks versus the Nashville Predators.

The Stars owned the Wild this season at 4-1 and this will be their first playoff matchup.

The Blues were 3-2 against Chicago this season, but have bad playoff memories against them. In the 2014 playoffs the Blues were up 2-0 on Chicago and went on to lose the series 4-2.

Nashville had a 2-1 record against Anaheim this season but in their last 12 matchups they’re only 3-9. Back in 2011 Nashville defeated Anaheim 4-2 in the opening round.
