Jayhawks Favorites on March Madness Odds

With only days left until Selection Sunday, bettors will soon be filling out their brackets and betting on who they think will be cutting down the nets at the end of March Madness.

However, you don’t have to wait until Selection Sunday to make your pick to win the National Championship. Odds are up at online sportsbook 5Dimes and their favorite heading into the tournament is the No. 1 ranked Kansas Jayhawks at +800.

Heading into the Big 12 Conference Tournament the Jayhawks have won 11 in a row straight up while going 9-2 against the spread.

Best primed to give the Jayhawks a run for their money in the tournament are the Michigan State Spartans at +850 at 5Dimes. The Spartans are also on a sold run heading into the Big Ten Tournament with a 10-1 SU record in their last 11 games, during which they are a perfect 11-0 ATS.

Turning back to the NCAA Tournament futures at 5Dimes, rounding out the Top 3 are the North Carolina Tar Heels at +950. North Carolina may be in the Top 3 on the odds list, but after losing two of their last six games they’re only ranked at No. 7 in the nation.

Following the Top 3 are the Oklahoma Sooners, Kentucky Wildcats and Villanova Wildcats all at +1400. From that trio Villanova is the highest ranked at No. 3, but they were No. 1 just a few weeks ago and they’ve been terrible for bettors at 2-5 ATS in their last seven games.

The Sooners were also poison for bettors down the stretch. Not only were they 5-4 SU in their last nine games, but they were favored in all four losses. Oklahoma was also 2-7 ATS in those nine games.

Kentucky may be getting their odds based more on reputation than results. The Wildcats are ranked No. 17 in the nation and are 4-7 SU and ATS in their last 11 games away from home.
