NBA Continues Playoffs to Highlight Week

The Miami Heat took care of business against the Milwaukee Bucks in their playoff opener on Sunday night, and LeBron James and company will be looking to cruise in that series this week as the NBA postseason highlights the slate for sports bettors.

James poured in 27 points and collected 10 rebounds on Sunday to lead the Heat to a 110-87 win over the Bucks as a 13.5-point home favorite on the NBA betting lines at the sportsbooks and a 1-0 series lead. Dwyane Wade added 16 points for Miami in that win, while Ray Allen scored 20 points. Brandon Jennings had 26 points for the Bucks.

Miami and Milwaukee get back in action on Tuesday night with Game 2 of their series down in South Beach; the other two Game 2s on tap for Tuesday are Boston at New York and Golden State at Denver. On Wednesday it’s then Houston at Oklahoma City, Atlanta at Indiana, and the Lakers at San Antonio, with the Spurs bouncing the Lakers 91-79 in Game 1 of their set on Sunday. The first round of the NBA playoffs then carries on right through the weekend.

The NHL still has a week to go before its playoffs get underway, with only half of the league’s postseason berths locked down heading into that final stretch. In the East, the Ottawa Senators are still trying to clinch their spot, and they’ll play host to Pittsburgh on Monday before finishing off their regular-season schedule with games against Washington, Philadelphia, and then Boston; that Bruins game is set for Sunday night.

Over in the West the Detroit Red Wings will be looking to avoid missing the playoffs by turning in a strong performance this week.
