Even after winning the last two games of the Eastern Conference Finals the Toronto Raptors are still afterthoughts on the odds to win the NBA Championship at online sportsbook Bodog.
The Raptors looked like were headed for a four-game sweep at the hands of the Cleveland Cavaliers after blowout losses in the first two games of the series. Back at home for Games 3 and 4, though, the Raptors found another gear and posted back-to-back upset wins to tie the series 2-2.
Despite all of that Toronto is still a +3300 underdog on the NBA title futures at Bodog.
While the Raptors continue to languish well behind at the bottom of the futures the Golden State Warriors are still the favorites to win the NBA Championship at +140.
The Warriors have been the favorites on the odds all season long and even falling behind the Oklahoma Thunder 2-1 in the Western Conference Finals hasn’t changed that. You might think getting hammered 133-105 as a 2.5-point road favorite would cause the Warriors to fall, but it hasn’t happened yet.
Maybe even more surprising is the current odds for the Thunder. Oklahoma City upset the San Antonio Spurs, and if they keep it up they’re on the way to an upset over the Warriors. That success has translated to +300 odds on the Thunder winning the NBA championship at Bodog. If you think the Thunder have it in them to go all the way those might be the most profitable odds you’re going to get.
The only other team whose odds we haven’t looked at are the Cavaliers. The Cavaliers went from up 2-0 on the Raptors in the Eastern Conference Finals to tied 2-2. LeBron James and company’s backs aren’t against the wall just yet though, and the oddsmakers have recognized that and have them posted at +160 to win the title.
If the Cavaliers take Game 5 against Toronto those odds might improve. But if they were to lose their third in a row and fall behind 3-2 those odds may take a tumble.
