Super Bowl Odds: Pats, Panthers Favorites

With only four teams left standing in the running for Super Bowl 50 the oddsmakers at online sportsbook Bodog can’t decide on a single favorite. Instead they have selected New England and Carolina as co-favorites on the updated Super Bowl futures.

The Patriots and Panthers are both listed at +190 with one win standing between them and a trip to San Francisco for the big game. New England had little trouble with Kansas City last week in a 27-20 win as a 6-point favorite.

With Julian Edelman back and Rob Gronkowski not hampered by a bad knee Tom Brady made easy work of the Chiefs defense with 302 yards passing and three touchdowns.

The Panthers completely dominated the first half against Seattle last week, jumping out to a 31-0 lead. It was a good thing too as Seattle owned the second half scoring 24 unanswered points before coming up short in their comeback attempt. Next up for New England is a trip to Denver, where they’re a 3.5-point road favorite for the AFC Championship Game. Denver is at +400 on the Bodog Super Bowl futures. They defeated the injury-riddled Steelers 23-16 last week as 7-point chalk.

The Panthers take on Arizona at home as a 3.5-point favorite in the NFC Championship Game. The Cardinals also check in as a +400 underdog on the Super Bowl futures.

The Cards needed overtime last week to vanquish Green Bay 26-20 as a 7-point favorite. Larry Fitzgerald came through for the Cardinals in the overtime period with a 75-yard reception that set up his short TD reception on the next play.
